The services on the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS, RAPIDX is expected to begin soon. According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the rapid rail services next week on October 20. Once operational, the semi-high-speed rail services will change the face of transit services in the Delhi NCR region. It is to be noted that the operations will be initiated on the priority section first covering a distance of 17 km between Sahibabad and Duhai in Ghaziabad.

The inaugural train on the priority section will likely will likely be operated by female pilots. Furthermore, to increase women's participation National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is also likely to place women in key roles including operation management, station management, maintenance, and customer care.

The priority section of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS is the first section of the 82.1 km-long corridor which is expected to be fully operational by 2025. It is worth mentioning that trials on the priority section have been completed hinting towards its imminent launch. Various reports suggest that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to inspect the rapid rail services before flag-off by the Prime Minister.

The prirority section of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor will have five stations including Duhai Depot, Duhai, Guldhar, Ghaziabad, and Sahibabad. Meanwhile, the Delhi section of the RAPIDX will have Sarai Kale Khan, Jangpura, Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations.

Previously, during non-revenue operations, the train recorded a speed of 160 kmph while traversing a 17-km priority stretch with three stations in just 12 minutes between Sahibabad and Dubai. The empty train was operated at a 15-minute interval between 6 am and 11 pm during these trials. These procedures are being followed to guarantee flawless business operations.
